Founded in 1978, Ag Pro was built on a foundation of hard work, innovation, and long-term relationships. Today, we continue that legacy—helping landowners maximize their farm’s potential while ensuring that the land remains productive for future generations
Founded in 1978, Ag Production Enterprises, Inc. was the name given to the farming operation started by Larry and Carol Pumphrey. Shortly after graduating from Purdue University in 1967, Larry and Carol took on the responsibility of managing Carol’s family farm ground. Through hard work, a willingness to innovate, and a deep respect for the land, they expanded the operation—adding hogs, additional acres, and a growing team.
The 1970s and 1980s brought wide swings in agricultural profitability, but the Pumphreys seized every opportunity, incorporating hog production, seed corn, and detasseling into the farm’s growth. During these years, lifelong relationships were formed with landowners, employees, and suppliers, relationships that continue to shape Ag Pro today.
Now operated by Robert and Natalie Pumphrey, Ag Pro represents the eighth generation to manage the farm. Robert and Natalie continue to expand and strengthen the operation, ensuring that Ag Pro remains a leader in professional farm management and land stewardship
Robert Pumphrey has dedicated his career to agricultural leadership, farm management, and business development. After earning a degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, Robert gained hands-on experience at United Feeds before returning to the family farm in 1998.
His early years at Ag Pro were spent focusing on swine production, a key component of the farm’s growth. In 2007, Robert became President of Ag Pro, broadening his leadership to include operational planning, risk management, and business development. Under his leadership, Ag Pro has continued to expand and evolve, adapting to a rapidly changing agricultural landscape while staying true to the values of hard work, integrity, and stewardship
The traditional agricultural principles of hard work, farm asset ownership, and ethical business standards will continue to be the foundation of our family farm—hopefully for generations to come.”
